Microsoft Launching Surface Duo September 10th

Microsoft is planning on launching its Surface Duo device on September 10, 2020. The phone has a Snapdragon 855 with 6GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, a single 11MP camera, and two 5.6-inch AMOLED (1800×1350) which open up to 8.1 inches combined. Price is set to be $1399 and it is launching on AT&T although the unlocked model supports all three major carries in the U.S. (Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile).

The $1399 starting price point seems high for a company that has historically had issues delivering phones. It’s going up against other flagship devices that are available in that price range such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra/Flip Z/Fold and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I’ll be very curious to see how it is received and how well the dual screen configuration works. Definitely not an impulse buy.
